Casper The Friendly Orb

Sami has turned off the light vision on the camera on her head board that captures movement coming in to the room. This is so it doesn't shoot out the infrared light towards the camera on the other end of the room like it did in a previous video. It's earlier than usual, and the fan is on low when Casper is seen coming out of the footboard up towards the wall and to the right of the screen. https://youtu.be/gUvsnwQQ-Y0

You hear some strange sounds when you play this video. After playing it a couple of times, I realized it's just Lizzie drinking water. Her water and food is on the floor below the camera. She must of come off the bed to wet her palate in the early morning. Casper flies all over the place in this one, along the back, to the front and then across the front. The owners of this house before Sami had lost a dog in the house. Sami seems to think that Casper may be the spirit of the dog, hanging around, looking for his owners. She also seems to think that Casper seems to come around only when Lizzie is around. Hmmm. I do know that when Sami stayed at my house for 3 days with Lizzie, we didn't capture Casper on any videos. Then again, Sami wasn't there either. Though there have been days that we didn't capture Casper and they were both there. In this video, Sami put another camera on her headboard facing outward to capture the doorway. She put the night vision on and that is causing a glare and a bright light to appear in this video. There is no light in the room, it's just the infra-red picked up by the original camera. She's not going to use the night vision on that camera so that it won't distract from seeing Casper. I don't exactly know what the light shining on the bed is. But, it may be something reflecting off of Lizzie or her eyes. That's about where she usually sleeps. You can see Casper flying left to right, though not in a straight line, along the bottom of the screen. https://youtu.be/WYQBt1tLZmM

So you may have been wondering what happened to me the last few days. Well, about 3 days ago, I opened up my trusty little Mac Pro, to load my videos, when suddenly I got the dreaded white screen of death. All my files frozen in time forever, lost in a black hole forever.  I had backups for most, but it certainly put a damper on the last few days! We happened to have an older laptop at home that still worked, so I was able to set it up and now use it until such time I decide that I need something a little newer and a little faster or I have an extra grand or two laying around. I'm guessing the latter would have to come first. But for now, this will work. I'm back, and so is Casper. Five videos below, all in a 4 minute sequence starting at 2:27a on July 25th. Sami told me that she is capturing lights on the videos when she is pressing the buttons on her TV remote. I asked her to turn the camera on, press the buttons and show me. I can instantly tell that the light she was seeing was the infrared between the remote and the TV. But while she was showing me, guess who showed up?? It's Casper!! In the video you can see Sami holding the remote, moving it around and pressing the buttons as she is watching the camera recording on her phone. The infrared lights are bright and they reflect off of the camera on to the back by her headboard. We've been getting a steady flow of videos capturing Casper the Orb. But, the last couple of days, the cameras didn't activate. We're not sure if Casper is activating the camera or if either Sami, her guests, or Lizzie (the chihuahua) is activating it with their movement or sound. It's really hard to tell. Some videos you can hear Casper making a fluttering sound, others a whooshing sound and some no sound. I am guessing when there is noise that we can hear, that could cause an activation. Though we didn't catch any appearances, that doesn't mean they didn't happen. Not the most user friendly play back available with this camera. We would have to go through 48 hours of video at actual speed to try to find anything. The camera doesn't allow for fast forward view. I woke up this morning and no videos texted to me. Darn it, and she's still sleeping, so I have to wait for them. Went to work and ping ping. Got some videos! It's 3:32am and Amanda spend the night. They are both watching TV and on their phones (did you notice the repetitive activity mentioned there? TV, phone...) You can see Sami dropping something. It was the TV remote. She had a bag of chips on the floor next the her bed. Remote fell right in the bag. Yummy yummy, lol. Just then Casper shoots up from the ground up to the top of the screen on the left side. Just after that, Sami turned the light on that was on the night stand next to her bed, to find the remote in the bag and pull it out. I was waiting so patiently for my daughter to casll me with a video Tuesday, but NOTHING! . Casper has been appearing every day lately. Where d'you go Casper? I have to admit, my dog, at my house, has been acting pretty the last couple of days. For no reason, looking up and behind her. Barking on my bed in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. Not normal for her. Maybe Casper is visiting me? Or maybe just taking a break or avoiding the camera. Hmmm.  Turns out my daughter was up through the night and the camera was active but pauses 10 min after every activation, so very likely we didn't catch Casper in between.  Thursday morning, Sami sent me three new videos captured last night. 9:55pm   You can see  Casper flying up towards the fan. Ok, so this is weird. My dog stopped barking at around 3a this morning and at 4:17a Casper appeared at Sami's home. Did Casper follow me home and then go back for his nightly debut? (I'm smiling). Got to make it interesting, but you got to admit, possible. Anyway, in this video, Sami is sleeping and appears to be adjusting her pillow. Fan is on. I haven't. I wish others were open to the possibility of this phenomenon, and were as curious as I am to find out more. Two videos today. in the first, Sami is laying in bed, looking at her phone, 2:19a. Lizzie just climbed up the stairs at the side of the bed and got onto the bed. The reflection you see in Sami's hand is the back of her phone. Casper shoots straight up in front of the camera almost like he's showing off. Sami did not see Casper or hear any noises. We are not sure what triggers Casper. Sometimes Sami is home, sometimes Lizzie is moving around, and sometimes not. But what we have noticed is since the video only captures 6 seconds, what are we missing before and after in the video. Sami decided to purchase a subscription that will capture not only the motion sensor video, but the video before and after. The paranormal investigator came over to Sami's house yesterday and when he went into the house, he said that he felt peaceful. He didn't think this energy was something that could hurt her. He did recommend that she didn't talk to it, use a Ouji board, or anything like that. It may be the energy of someone who passed, or remnants of energy (I don't know what that is). He also said that there is intelligent energy and energy that is just there and stays there repeating its path. He said that the energy could be attached to a piece of furniture or even a person. He said that as long as the energy is not causing any problems, then Sami can just learn to co-exist. But if Sami ever felt threatened, hurt or strange things started to occur, he would be happy to come back and help her further any time. This investigator did not charge us anything. Slumber girl party with her friend Amanda, hanging out to see if Casper would appear. Hadn't heard anything and decided to go to sleep. They were awoken to a load house creak. Sami is saying something like, "that didn't sound the same in my head". She was half asleep. Then went back to sleep. When she woke she realized that noise happened the same time Casper appeared. You can see Lizzie's head pop up and back down as Casper's light appears, and also at the very end of the video, you can see the shadow on the blanket covering Sami's leg gets bigger. At this point, I decided that I needed to find out if this is something we need to be worried about. I started a search for someone who might know and found a paranormal investigator. I sent him the 3 videos we had and told him what we knew. He contacted Sami and set up a time when he could come down to her house to see what he thinks. Tomorrow at 10am. A little introduction. I am an analyst by trade, but mostly, I am a Mom. I started this blog to journal some strange occurrences that have been happening at my daughter's home. I say strange because I don't understand what they are or what they mean. I am very skeptical by nature and my analytical mind believes that there should be logical explanations for everything that happens. That doesn't mean I am not open to exploring things we don't understand yet. I know there is more to this world than what we can see, and that we have just begun to understand life. What has been happening is something I haven't been able to wrap my head around. That's where Casper comes in. My daughter moved out about a little over a year ago.
